Weblogic server and single sign on

Has anyone been able to configure the Listener and APEX to use SSO on a WebLogic server? If so, what are the steps?
I am using Listener 1.1 and APEX 4.2 on a 12c WebLogic server. What authentication scheme is needed in order for the SSO to work?

Listener is not involved directly in any SSO scenarios, it just passes HTTP requests through to APEX, so in this case, your question would be better posed on the APEX forum.

Is this correct? So we should not need to make any modification to the Listener to enable SSO with APEX?

Yes this is correct, You are trying to integrate your SSO with APEX, not with weblogic, not with listener, not with mod_plsql, it's APEX and the SSO solution that need to know about and talk to each other, weblogic/listener or apache/mod_plsql are just the intermediaries in between transporting the messages that need to flow between the SSO and APEX, they don't understand the messages they are passing, they don't look at them, they don't take any action on them themselves.

Of course the SSO layer still needs to sit in front of APEX (ie. in front of weblogic/listener) to proxy requests and to ensure that protected URLs are not accessed without the user having signed in.
