I am new to Apex and have installed Apex 4.2 on a database and created a dashboard based on some tables.
Now I have to create a schema in the same database and have to replicate all the tables and should have the same dashboard.
Now my question is-
1. Do I have to install Apex on the other schema and then have to export and import the reports and dashboards to the installed Apex?
2. Is there any way so that the same installed Apex can be used for the other schema also and can have two separate environment (Dev and Prod)?
Please help....Please provide some document or link for the same.
A database can have one and only one apex schema (APEX_040200).
It is not a good idea to have DEV and PROD in the same DB (thus using the same APEX data). It makes development very hard (because it might - or will - break PROD at some time).
But - if you must - you can create two schema's: like A and B.
Export your APP1 and import it under a different id (into the same Workspace - but you can also set up two Workspaces).
Using the apex admin console, change the schema your new imported app is using to B. In that way your app will be running 'as user B'.
Those are really basic questions. I suggest you follow an intro course or read a good book about APEX (like Beginning Oracle Application Express 4.2 from Apress). You wont regret it, it will speed up your development enormously - so saving you tons of time in the end!
But never mind:
APEX Admin : http://<yourserver>/apex/apex_admin (usually you navigate to the APEX Dev environment using the same URL without the last "_admin". See http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E37097_01/doc/doc.42/e35129/toc.htm#BEGIN
