My application running on tomcat ,every day I see an increase in permgen space, does this ever garbage collected? how can I see whats in the permgen space? I guess Heap dump shows whats in the heap memory how about permgen space , I wan to know why its increasing everyday?
Please advice .
Tomcat 6.35 jdk 1.6
Note# I am not redeploying any application in tomcat and I just have my app and not even the manager app.I always restart the server if I have to redeploy my app.

Its not the most recent stuff you're running but still nothing excessively old either. There have been permgen space problems in Tomcat's past, not only related to redeployment.
I'm sorry to say that there is little to go on here, there are no specific reasons I know of that the permgen space would fill up other than classes being loaded but not unloaded all the time. You might want to try a Tomcat forum.
