At our customer site , we have recently installed JDK 1.6 on servers hosting BIP server. However BIP is still using the old JDK 1.4.02 that was installed with the install kit. How do I point BIP to the new JDK version? Also how do I ensure that all BIP components are using the correct JDK?

Note that BIP requires JDK and not JRE. The safest way to upgrade the JDK is to replace the existing JDK directory with a new JDK. Let's say the BIP was installed in a directory C:\bip10g\ then you'll find a C:\bip10g\jdk as well. This is what will be set in C:\bip10g\oc4j_bi\bin\oc4j.cmd as JAVA_HOME. Upgrading this JDK is best to move the current dir to backup location (mv jdk jdk_old) and then install the latest 1.6 JDK in C:\bip10g\jdk.
