    Rman restore on sbt_tape

    914302
      Dear All

      In production I add new instance and configured rman backup through EMC networker which is working fine.

      Oracle version 11.2.0.1
      Two instances : cal & sales
      Hostname :- dbprod.emc.com

      I am trying to restore "cal" tablespace from different host by using script below,

      run {
      allocate channel t1 type ’SBT_TAPE’;
      allocate channel t2 type ’SBT_TAPE’;
      send ’NSR_ENV=(NSR_SERVER=mars.emc.com,
      NSR_CLIENT=dbprod.emc.com)’;
      sql ’alter tablespace users offline immediate’;
      restore tablespace users;
      recover tablespace users;
      sql ’alter tablespace users online’;
      release channel t1;
      release channel t2;
      }

      which parameter i need to add to specify "service name" because hostname is same for both instances.

      Kindly cooperate.

      Thanks.

          Hi,

          I believe you can use the set DBID command
          run {
          set DBID <dbid>;
          allocate channel t1 type ’SBT_TAPE’;
          allocate channel t2 type ’SBT_TAPE’;
          send ’NSR_ENV=(NSR_SERVER=mars.emc.com,
          NSR_CLIENT=dbprod.emc.com)’;
          sql ’alter tablespace users offline immediate’;
          restore tablespace users;
          recover tablespace users;
          sql ’alter tablespace users online’;
          release channel t1;
          release channel t2;
          }

            I am trying to restore "cal" tablespace from different host by using script below,
            Sign on to the target host and attach to instance "cal"
            $ . /usr/local/bin/oraenv cal
            $ rman target /
            Then execute your script according to the rman recovery instructions

              Hi,

              $ rman target sys/<password>@cal

              RMAN>run {
              allocate channel t1 type ’SBT_TAPE’;
              allocate channel t2 type ’SBT_TAPE’;
              ...
              release channel t2;
              }

              In advance, please list, 'cal' in the tnsnames.ora of the server running the rman command.
