          Hi,

          RMAN delete backup command delete all backup information from controlfile repository as well as RMAN backup files physically. Can you please share what information you are getting in v$rman_backup_job_details.

          Thanks

            select session_key,
                   input_type,
                   status,
                   to_char(start_time,'yyyy-mm-dd hh24:mi') start_time,
                   to_char(end_time,'yyyy-mm-dd hh24:mi')   end_time,
                   output_bytes_display,
                   time_taken_display

              Hi,

              This is the output of last run RMAN backup jobs and if you see the status column its either failed or completed, no one is in running state.

              Thanks

                    Hi,

                    You can use the following command. May it help you
                    SYS.DBMS_BACKUP_RESTORE.resetCfileSection(28);
                    Doc Ref:http://docs.oracle.com/cd/B28359_01/backup.111/b28270/rcmtroub.htm

                      Hi,

                      v$rman_backup_job_details is basically a synonym which is based on dynamic view prefix with v_$rman_backup_job_details and these dynamic view is based on dynamic tables prefix with X$ and these dynamic tables are created at nomount and mount and it is automatically maintained and updated by Oracle and Oracle doesn't allow to perform manual DML operation on these tables but as suggested using this function (SYS.DBMS_BACKUP_RESTORE.resetCfileSection(28);) you can delete all previous RMAN job history.

                      Thanks
