Hi , iam new in ASM diskgroup but before 2 days i read articals about this ,
the ASM DG it on storage side so when you deinstall the cluster the DG is still there .
I was able to fix this issue.
The issue was , the ASM disks was still not released properly from OS level.
after i asked the sys admins to unmount and mount it again, i was able to see the disks as CANDIDATES for my install
...They said since its a red hat version 6 its configured with UDEV concept and not with ASMLib.Meanwhile ASMLib is available also for RHEL, but you need access to the Red Hat support area:
