DTrace is only available for Oracle Linux 6 and only via ULN.1 person found this helpful
For Ksplice Supported versions/kernels: https://www.ksplice.com/uptrack/supported-kernels
Ksplice comes with Oracle Linux Premier Support subscription.
AFAIK, for root support you do need UEK2 with OL 6.3 or OL 6.4 UEK Boot ISO to set it up during install.
Hope that helps!
As for OL5 with root btfrs, once it's installed, you can try to conver to to btrfs, just be sure you are on the latest uek2 kernel. (2.6.39-400)1 person found this helpful

Dude wrote:The DTrace kernel requires OL6, but Ksplice is available for both OL5 and OL6.
I'm trying to find out the kernel or OS requirements for Dtrace and Ksplice. From what I'm able to find out, it requires Oracle Linux 6 and a ULN subscription. Is this correct?
Was OL 6 previously a requirement for Btrfs? Checking the UEK latest repository I found that the Btrfs progs and utilities package is also available for OL 5. Does Btrfs root support requries UEK2?We only support btrfs in production on OL6.
Thanks everyone for responding.
Thanks for the link https://www.ksplice.com/uptrack/supported-kernels which shows detailed kernel requirements for Ksplice. The requirements for RHCK are confusing though.
According to the information I conclude the following:
Dtrace requires OL 6 and an ULN subscription:
Ksplice is available for OL 5 and OL 6 starting with Oracle UEK 2.6.32-100.28.9
BtrFS is available for OL 5 and OL 6, but supported only for OL 6. BtrFS root support requires UEK2.
Small point but important one for the following:1 person found this helpful
BtrFS root support requires UEK2.OL 6.3 + UEK2 is required since OL 6.2 and older did not ship with UEK boot ISO.
