I am trying to upgrade my Oracle 11g R2 Express database to Oracle 11g R2 Enterprise using the export/import dump. My OS is Windows Server 2008 R2. I now have both versions installed on the server. I want to get a new export of the data from XE because users has entered more data since I did the last dump. The issue is I can't connect to XE anymore using SQL Plus but I can connect to the Enterprise. The versions are using two different directories and have separate services. Does anyone know what could cause this? I just want to get a new dump of the XE data and import it into Enterprise.
I forgot to post the error. I get the error ORA-12560: TNS:protocol adapter error.
I tried checking the ORACLE_HOME like you provided but it just echo exactly what I put in. For example I typed in echo %ORACLE_HOME% and it returned %ORACLE_HOME%. Am I doing something wrong?
Mine is working like
When I try to connect to XE I am typing
Enter user-name: Username
Enter Password: Password
Hit enter and then I get the following error:
ORA-01017: invalid username/password; logon denied
Its Because there is no ORACLE_HOME set,
You have installed the EE version on same server so might me the PATH variable would be change and its pointing out to new EE home ,
Your step to loging on XE Db would be, set the ORACLE_HOME/ORACLE_SID on Command Prompt which should Point out to your old XE Home.
and then Try To login
