    SharedServices and Workspace URL's are not working in EPM System 11.1.2.2

    TejB
      Hello,
      SharedServices and Workspace URL's are not working in EPM System 11.1.2.2
      I have installed EPM system V11.1.2.2 in single server environment (MS 2008 Server R2) with following components:
      * Foundation Services
      * HFM
      * FDM

      Have used embedded Weblogic server as application web server and Oracle HTTP server as web server. The installation was successful.
      While configuration,
      1) I selected the option to deploy web applications SharedServices and Workspace to a single managed server. The applications got successfully deployed to EPMServer0.
      2) Also, I selected to configure Oracle HTTP server as web server.
      Both these steps were successful.

      But SharedServices and Workspace URL's are not working. Getting 404 error.
      SharedServices : http://inmum01hyp05.internal.vodafone.com:19000/interop/index.jsp
      Workspace : http://inmum01hyp05.internal.vodafone.com:19000/workspace/

      When I checked Weblogic admin console, EPMServer0 is in SHUTDOWN state, tried to start it but it goes in ADMIN state instead of RUNNING.
      Checked EPMServer0 log at "D:\Oracle\Middleware\user_projects\domains\EPMSystem\servers\EPMServer0\logs" and found the error given at the end of this message.

      Can anyone please suggest a solution for this.

          Restart the server and then try again to login workspace and shared servcies.

            Hello,

            You said that you have installed and configured your environment to a Single Managed server which listens on port *9000*. Try the following URL

            http://inmum01hyp05.internal.vodafone.com:9000/interop/index.jsp
            http://inmum01hyp05.internal.vodafone.com:9000/workspace/

            and I think that should work for you if everything is configured properly. You can check this URL - http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E17236_01/epm.1112/epm_install/frameset.htm?ch09s02.html

            Thanks,

              Hi,

              If you deploy to the single managed server using individual ports, for example, for essbase 10080, workspace 19000. like this

              do one thing, goto start --> programs --> EPMSystem --> workspace --> workspace url try this link to open workspace. :)

              Cheers,

                Mady..

                Seems like you are confused, you can check the link that I have provided above. Following lines are taken from the same link --

                When you select this option, all server names are changed to EPMServer0, and all ports are changed to 9000 or 9443 (SSL). If you change a port, it is reflected in all the rows.

                It means that if you select that option, you do not have an option to select the individual ports.

                Thanks,

                  If OHS is being used as the web server then it should still be running on port 19000 by default, if the configure web server was configured last it should have added the weblogic proxy information to point to whatever port the managed servers have been deployed to.

                  Anyway no point in using OHS yet as you have said the EPMServer0 managed server is going to ADMIN state then there should be something in the logs to give an indication why.

                  Not really a good advert for vodafone :)

                    Thanks Everyone for your inputs.

                    Thanks John. Yes, as OHS is being used as the web server, so workspace and sharedservices should still be running on port 19000. So, the given URL's are correct ones.
                    My difficulty is how to resolve the weblogic error which is given in the log in original message. If you can help for that, it would be really great :-)

                    Thanks,

                        Hi John,
                        today's update:

                        * Uninstalled EPM system V11.1.2.2 completely and after rebooting the server installed EPM system V11.1.2.2 again.
                        * During configuration, deployed SharedServices and Workspace to single managed server EPMServer0 on Weblogic server and configured to Oracle HTTP server as web server. Configuration seems successful.
                        * Started EPM system.
                        * checked Weblogic admin console - EPMServer0 goes into ADMIN state from STARTING.
                        * Checked EPMServer0 logs at "D:\Oracle\Middleware\user_projects\domains\EPMSystem\servers\EPMServer0\logs" and found the error given below:

                            I followed the exact instruction given in document [ID 1481843.1] to resolve the error. But no luck.

                            The error in our case is due to epm-hss-libraries, When Checked on Weblogic admin console, the library is absent on weblogic deployments page.

                            So, installed library from D:\OracleNew\Middleware\EPMSystem11R1\common\templates\applications

                            and then saved target as mentioned in document.

                            But again the EPMserver0 started in admin mode. Same error in log.

                            Any suggestions?

                              1. Are you able to access HSS using 28080/interop?

                              2. Have you used the same database for reconfiguration or the fresh one?

                              3. Which database (with Version) you are using ?

                              4. If Oracle then have you granted all the rights for the user?

                              5. Is the configuration went fine without errors?

                                You won't be able to access Shared Services if the web application has not started up in ADMIN mode

                                The error  is pointing to the issue.

                                <Failed to initialize the application 'SHAREDSERVICES [Version=11.1.2.0]' due to error weblogic.management.DeploymentException: [J2EE:160149]Error while processing library references. I think the deployment has gone wrong somewhere.

                                Also is the reason for having to deploy it in compact mode?

                                  Hi RahulS,

                                    Hello All.

                                    Thanks for all your useful inputs.

                                    Finally, reconfiguration is successful.

                                    Yes John, the problem was with deployment but was not able to understand what is going wrong with deployment.

                                    Tried clean uninstall couple of times with removing registry. At last updated PATH variable by removing all entries related to Hyperion during uninstalling.

                                    Installing and configuring was successful after this. Also, I did not do compact deployment this time and used separate web servers for deployment.

                                    Finally, Shared Services and Workspace URL's are working fine.

                                    http://servername:28080/interop/index.jsp

                                    http://servername:28080/workspace/

                                    Regards,
