This is for testing purpose. To record and save the user interactions, we save lot of testing times. Please note that this is for test case purposes and not actual test automation script. Like I mentioned above if there is any way to save the trace like clicking a menu->sub menu -> menu item , clicking a button , populating values in the elements of the UI Maintenance Map, or verifying some labels on the Display Map and then save all those actions as text in excel file.
Could you please let me your details, I want to reach you out and talk more about it.
You may try with some automated testing tool which can be used to record the user interactions and screen/label/UI values can be validated as well.
The steps will be as follows,
01. Start recording in testing tool (RFT Rational Functional Tester)
02. launch the IE, enter the URL hit the enter key
03. enter the username/password
04. click the main menu or whtever its
05. Navigate to particular UI map
06. stop the recording
Now you will get the auto generated java classes for all your interactions which u did just above.
Open the particular java file in RFT and select the label object, get the text value of the label. have condition with that text value.
The above said process is one time process. then after just run the test it just does all the above said steps.
i hope there may some other functional testing tool as well check it in google.
