I have just finished building my cube and it failed. How do I view the actual error log for me to be able to know exactly which dimensions are causing issues. when I use
select * from cube_build_log
it does not give me the actual dimensions causing issues?
There are many levels of logging, so I would need to know more before I can tell you which one to look at.
SELECT BUILD_ID, BUILD_OBJECT, BUILD_OBJECT_TYPE, OUTPUT
WHERE STATUS = 'FAILED'
ORDER BY TIME DESC
When the server loads rows from the fact table into the cube, it loads those that match existing dimension values and 'rejects' those that do not. When you load via AWM there is a maximum number of rows that can be 'rejected' before the build fails with the error you see. It is a low number (100 if I remember) by default. There are three possibilities.
(1) The fact records should not be rejected, so you need to find out why they are being rejected and fix the issue. For this you should look at the log table named CUBE_REJECTED_RECORDS. (See http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11882_01/appdev.112/e25788/d_cube_log.htm for more details.) The table will explain why the records are rejected, and obviously the fix will depend on the reason.
(2) The fact records should be rejected and you want the build to proceed anyway. In this case you should raise the limit, which you can do in the preferences dialog of AWM.
(3) A mix of (1) and (2) -- some records should be rejected and you need to raise the limit, but others should not be rejected and you need to find the reason.
