I came across your reply whilst searching for an answer to my issue in oracle forms.
I use oracle forms 10g and oracle 11g.
I have a column of type timestamp with local timezone where I insert the timestamp in my local time zone. I cannot display this value in forms.
The datetime item will display this value in GMT(which i guess is the server timezone) whilst selecting the value in DB shows the correct timezone EST.
Is there any way to workaround this in forms. I tried cast and to_timestamp_tz but maybe I'm not proficient but that didnt work.
You have any inputs on this, Please do let me know.
I'll second that! I have not found a way to handle timestamps in forms and I'd dearly like to. We have some data with times to 2 decimal place subseconds. This data is very important to us. If memory serves, forms balks at creating a form if the underlying table has timestamps.
