do you know where can I find oracle 9i download for RHEL 5.6? I can't find it anywhere.
Thanks in advance.
My Oracle Support ... and only if you have a paid-up support contract. Actually, I'm not sure 9i would be available even then. 10g is only available to those with a paid-up sustaining support contract. 9i is so old (hasn't been supported in this millennium) I wouldn't be surprised it is not available at any price. Further, I doubt it was ever certified for RHEL 5. Hard to tell since the documentation isn't even available .....
Just out of curiosity, why would you be needing such an antique?
On another note, please edit your profile to give yourself a recognizable name.
I have Oracle9i but it's for RHEL 4, I Do you know if it's compatible with RHEL 5.6? I want to have more information here before open a tar in MOS.
I need this very old version because it's required by the application.
I have already changed the name in my profile,
Thanks and Regards,
Hello Ed and all,
I have Oracle 9i running in RHEL 4 and I'm thinking to make a tar in the /product directory and then copy it to RHEL 5.6. I don't have the installer, just one database intalled and running in RHEL4.
If anyone knows if there's a compatibility between Oracle running on RHEL 4 and RHEL 5.6, (I mean, if it's possible to copy binaries and DB installed in RHEL4 and copy it in RHEL5.6), please let me know.
I guess Oracle don't have 9i (client or server) anymore, cause it's not supported.
Thanks in advance.
Thanks Paul and all for the tips. We said to the application supplier to pgrade the application cause Oracle 9i won't run properly in RHEL 5.6.
I would have some very serious doubts about a vendor who had allowed his product to fall so far behind in the first place .... why did they even need to be told they needed to upgrade?
where can I find the link of the compatibility matrix of Oracle 9i in MOS?
In MOS select Certifications, in Product select Oracle Database, select 22.214.171.124 and then Search button => Operating Systems (15 Items)
