the reason you probably do not get an answer on this thread is no one would ever setup a failover cluster for Oracle database that way. (That is with MS cluster).
Therefore you should better try @ Microsoft to get an answer on that, than on the Oracle Forum.
The supported and working solutions you have is:
a.) Failover Cluster from Oracle
b.) Setup Grid Infrastructure and use RAC One Node
Unsupported, but sill possible:
c.) Though not advised, setup of a failover cluster by hand with Oracle Clusterware (Grid Infrastructure), but make sure you know the implications (not supported).
If you have problems/questions regarding these 3, you might get answers.
However not on how to setup MS cluster to do a failover for Oracle DB.
I was going through your post and i am also doing the same thing here at our organisation for Oracle 10g R2
Can you pls send me any docs u r having for configuration of Oracle in windows clusters .
And, can you pls elaborate on this point
e)Create Oracle Service with the same name in the 2nd node and copy all the files like spfile,tnsnames.ora,listener.ora,password file to Node2.
Pls send me the details at firstname.lastname@example.org or you can contact me at 08054641476.
Thanks in advance.
