DG4MSQL to connect 2 seperate database instances of MSSQL

    1022342

      Dear All,

I am new to Heterogeneous Connectivity.

We have one connectivity of DG4MSQL to and MSSQL db on instance XYZ.

Now to connect to other MSSQL db of instance ABC,Do i need to create another DG4MSQL initfile?

what about listener and tnsnames.ora entries.

      Thanks And Regards

You have to duplicate the whole configuration which means you have to create a new listener SID entry with its own, dedicated SID. This SID now needs its own gateway init file where you specify the new SQL Server instance. Finally on the database side you have to add a new tnsnames.ora alias where you make sure the SID refers to the newly created gateway SID.

          SIDE NOTE:

when you add a new SID to the listener.ora file, please make sure to STOP and START the gateway listener.
