this is what i plan to do
127.0.0.1 is a loopback address that is designed for the software loopback interface of a machine. The loopback interface has no hardware associated with it, and it is not physically connected to a network. The loopback interface allows you to test IP software without worrying about broken or corrupted drivers or hardware. Let's say your .. - IP Address is 192.168.1.10 - Hostname is abc - Domain Name is xyz.com Then, the '/etc/hosts' file should look like the following: 127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain localhost 192.168.1.10 abc.xyz.com abc For more details, you can check the following links: Loopback http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Loopback localhost http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/127.0.0.1 Hope it is clear now
1. install loopback following your steps in xp as below:
while configuring loop back adaptor should i use the above 10.10.10.10 or_ use my IP address xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx _
3) Install Microsoft Loopback adapter and define an IP address (10.10.10.10) For more information on how to do this, please refer to "How to install the Microsoft Loopback adapter in Windows XP": http://support.microsoft.com/kb/839013
2 edit the hosts file to include myIP and NOT_ 10.10.10.10
127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain localhost <myIPhere> ebsr1232.ashinc.local ebsr1232
while configuring loop back adaptor should i use the above 10.10.10.10 or_ use my IP address xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx _10.10.10.10 is just an example, and you will have to set your IP Address.
2 edit the hosts file to include myIP and NOT_ 10.10.10.10Correct.
Thank you Hussein. Sorry for delayed acknowledgement; lost contact w/ online world for past few days
The startCD md5 checksum files are up to date, they are only created once a new version is available. Oce released it will normally not be updated again only when a new version is available.
If you have you doubts let me know (I'm the creator/owner of the MD5 checksum note)
btw why are you not suing the version of the startCD ?
