Have you made any changes to the rules file?
I think the first place to look is the HFM Error Log Viewer, which you will find in the consultant utilities folder of your HFM install.
This parses the HFM logfile and if it's rules related should also point you to the line which is causing the issue.

Or you can go to:
Administration -> System messages
- Start Date/End Date
- Server Name
- Application Name
and press "View" button.
You should see a list of errors in your application. Please send us these errors.
Were you able to resolve this issue...I am facing similar issue but unable to find the root cause. In Dev environment - everything is fine, including consolidation. But in Production - with the same metadata and rules, consolidation is getting aborted.
Can you please let me know how you managed to resolve this issue.
