I have the following columns:
city || ', ' || state || ' ' || zip
Sometimes address 2 will be blank because there is no data for that column. I want to be able to suppress that blank space that it leaves because of the no data. I've tried anchoring the objects together and then choosing to collapse them, but that doesn't seem to work for me. I'm not sure if there is something more to it then just that or not. If so, could someone please tell me what else I need to do? Is there any other way to make the blank spaces suppress? Any help is appreciated, thanks!!
A bit unclear. You are talking about columns (horizontal), but show a form style (vertical) layout.
So, I'll assume you have a form layout. In that case, you have to make sure that the Vertical Elasticity property of item address2 is set to Variable. That's really the trick. If this doesn't work, it's often because of another frame surrounding the item. Check any surrounding frames too for the Vertical Elasticity.
If you want to make the address 2 column to hide, Make the vertical elasticity of the address 2 field set to variable. So that if the value exists in the database it will show the address or if not the address1 will be combined with city||State||country details.
On the other hand, you can opt for conditional formatting to hide the column when the address 2 value is null.
