Configuration with MQ and the Oracle Messaging Gateway

I am new to this forum. Thanks in advance for any replies.

I have a customer working with an Oracle consultant who stated we need to define MQ in and out log queues, that these will be getting messages but we just had to discard them. These in and out log queues are in addition to the local queue they are using (mq client in Oracle, to MQ server)

      - are these "in" and "out" log queues required to set up the Oracle Messaging Gateway? Here on the Oracle site, they appear to be called "propagation" queues
      - is there a way to get around having to define these queues that will just be used to throw messages away

Any explanation on this is appreciated as I am having a hard time understanding.
