How to set APEX Listener to execute procedures directly from browser

Hi everyone

I hope someone can shed light on this issue..

 • APEX 4.2.2 on Oracle DB 11g
 • APEX Listener 2.0.2

I tried to allow executing procedures using the configuration property in APEX Listener. For example, I want to call the procedure: MYSCHEMA.MYPROCEDURE

The setting would be like this, please correct me if I'm wrong:

...

wwv_flow*, p, n, cust*, apex*, f, MYSCHEMA.MYPROCEDURE

...

However, setting the property does not take effect.

I read in some other posts that the user APEX_PUBLIC_USER must be granted to execute the procedure:

GRANT EXECUTE ON MYSCHEMA.MYPROCEDURE TO APEX_PUBLIC_USER;

Indeed, it works!

But then I do not need setting the configuration property as it works without it.

What is the official way to do it then?

Kind regards

luno
