bumping this. please help
1) What should be populated in the View Link Accessor property of childNode? Documentation says only populate at leaf level?
ViewLink accessor should contain the accessor between each child level which you defined in your VL
2) What should be populated in View Link INstance property of childNode? Docs indicate this is deprecated?
Since this is deprecated, nothing b/c the viewLink accessor will take care of the linking
3) Do I have to manually execute the VL queries? I assumed that's why we create the VLs.
No, this is not required
Can you verify you have defined a viewLink accessor for each child node?
right now, i'm only trying to get a single child level to display, so I have the following defined:
------------>nodeDef1 (set to my master VO, i.e inspection number)
------------>childNode1 (set View Link Accessor property to getTestsVO )
------------------>nodeDef2 (set to my child level VO, i.e. Test Number )
that's my entire page defn right now. when I run it, I See the list of Inspection numbers, but no +/- to drill down to the detail of the tests for each inspection.
i have verified that both the master and child VOs have accessors. The master VO rowImpl has an accessor called getTestsVO() and the child VO rowImpl has 2 accessors. One up to the master called getInspectionsVO(), and one down to its own child called getTestResultsVO()
The page layout and its components looks right based on your post. Can you verify in the View Link Editor (in JDev) the View Link Properties? So in your case, for the VL defined as InspectionsToTestsVL, in the destination section you should have "AccessorName: getTestsVO"
Thanks a ton! That was my problem. I was putting the actual method name in the View Link Accessor property rather than the name in the view link property.
It's working now! Thanks again.
I'm sorry to re-open an old thread.
I've the same problem. But here, the thread till now concludes that the issue was resolved by putting the accessor name of the VL b/w level 1 & 2 (the name in the Destination VO accessor name in View Link Properties). But i've even made sure this part. Still i'm having the above mentioned problem.
I've also raised a separate thread for the same. https://forums.oracle.com/thread/2563897
