Can you share the url's you're using for workspace and shared services? You should be using http://server:19000/workspace or http://server:9000/workspace depending on whether you configured ohs or the embedded web logic web server
ALso make sure that you add the URL to trusted sites or local intranet and lower the security level as that will block a popup window on the login screen.
I'm using http://server:9000/workspace.
It worked fine when I installed.
I tried adding the website to trusted site and disabled pop-up blocker.
Does it have anything to do with Java?
The only thing I remember doing it was I removed Java from the windows start up settings (msconfig.exe).
But I enabled it back again now. Also, I changed the services from Automatic to manual since I wanted the Start Up script to start everything in order. Does this cause this issue?
Does this have to do anything with Java?
I don't think that should have an affect until you killed/stopped the Java process which was responsible for Hyperion
Also, I changed the services from Automatic to manual since I wanted the Start Up script to start everything in order. Does this cause this issue?
This is a good approach. Making services Manual and then using a start up script to start everything. Just make sure that you start the services in a required order
How about doing this --
- Stop all the Hyperion services.
- Reboot the servers.
- Start the Hyperion services and then try again?

And you're sure you ran the web server configuration task and selected the embedded server correct?
Yes. I chose Embedded server and config was successful. In fact, the Shared Services URL is launching without issue. Only workspace window is showing the Loading message forever and nothing happens.
I did not kill any Java process.
I'm using the start up script installed as part of EPM. "Start EPM System". So I am not choosing any order I am letting Oracle's start up script run.
Anyone has encountered the issue I mentioned?
Are you using IE8 or IE9?
Can you share with us the log file from Weblogic?
Can you list the services you are starting. You need to make sure you start atleast below for workspace.
Oracle HTTP Server
Also, make sure the user who is starting the services has access to RAF file system.
I'm using the Oracle provided script. StartEPMSystem.bat. I am not starting any service manually.
I don't know what RAF or RAF Web is. I did not install those.
If you look at my initial posting, I have listed the components I installed.
I tried re-configuring and re-deploying the Common t and Foundation compoenents many times.
I now get the following error when I launch Workspace URL. The windows that launches Workspace application shows up as blank and I get "Error on Page" in the window status bar.
Webpage error details
User Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 8.0; Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; Trident/4.0; SLCC2; .NET CLR 2.0.50727; .NET CLR 3.5.30729; .NET CLR 3.0.30729)

Message: 'application' is undefined
I am even able to launch Web Analysis URL and applet successfully.
Only Workspace is having issue.
Time to re-install everything? I wanted to figure out the issue.
Did you check for any errors or exceptions in EPMserver0.log? and even the syserr, sysout file ? Did you try a different browser like FF?
RAF is Reporting analysis Framework and RAF Web is Reporting analysis framework web.
Start Shared Services, wait for a minute, then start Reporting Analysi, wait 30 seconds, then Reporting analysis web and then Oracle HTTP Server.
Please do this manually, dont use the script yet.
