Pl post exact OS and database versions (to 4 digits). The Oracle database install does not "lock" the C Drive - pl elaborate on what you mean by "lock" - what are you trying to do and what errors/messages do you get. Pl also check the database install log file for any errors or messages - were all of the steps in the Install guide followed ?
This is the Version I installed 'Oracle Database Express Edition 11g Release 2'. I did not follow the Installation procedure and it did not install fully. So when I deleted the Oracle database files ,I later realized that my C drive was affected and whenever I click on it this message comes on, Access denied, which means I can not open any file on the drive. I have also deleted the Oracle file because it not also install fully. Please, help me out because I want proceed with the download again but cant if I dont know how to get Access to my c drive.
I have moved this thread to the XE forum. Again, Oracle installs do not mess with the OS. Pl identify exact OS version - supported versions are documented in the Install Guide - Oracle® Database Express Edition
It is best to follow the instructions in the Install Guide, assuming you have an OS version that is supported.
I didn't do anything extraordinary, just installed the software and probably did not follow instruction and might have accepted something without reading. Software did not install probably I deleted it only to realized that my c drive is not showing its usual storage capacity but has the formate NTFS with . If there is a possibility I could send you a screenshot on how it looks like and the response when I click it says "access denied" with the microsoft window logo on it the c drive icon.
