below works for me
bcm@bcm-laptop:~$ export CLASSPATH=/u01/app/oracle/product/11.2.0/dbhome_1/owb/wf/lib/ojdbc14.jar:.
OUTPUT IS- error java.lang.ClassNotFoundException : oracle.jdbc.OracleDriver
i am using jdk 1.6.0_24
and Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.1.0
Windows 7 (x64)
i tried 2 classpath
same problem arises in both cases.
You have to import the class if you want to use it. You have no import statement for that class.
Why are you still using such an ancient JDBC jar file? You should download and use the current jar.
See the Oracle JDBC Faq for info on the supported combinations of Oracle DB, JDK and JDBC jar.
Also it is recommended that you use a Datasource rather than the driver class.
See the Java Tutorials for examples of how to do that.

No. The code is dynamically loading the class and the error is a runtime, not compile time, error.
