    10GbE Network on Solaris 10 and 11

I have a system that has Intel 82599EN based LOM.  I see that 82599ES and 82599EB are supported in the latest Solaris 10 and 11 releases.  When I install Solaris 10 update 11, I can not see my 10GbE NIC.  The ixgbe driver (both 32 bit and 64-bit) get installed.  The version is 1.1.8 which should be pretty new.  But for some reason, the 10GbE NIC does not show up.  If I type dladm show-dev, nothing shows up.  "kstat -c net | grep net" also shows that ixgbe is not there.

Note that I made sure my ixgbe module is loaded.

Any ideas what may be going on?  I've tested the on-board NIC under Linux OS and I know it's functioning.  Somehow Solaris 10 (and 11) are not loading the device.  Maybe it's a driver issue?
