What do you mean "my user moved"?
What version are oyu running? The latest version 3.3 has a new feature on sync to let you choose what database connection to sync with so oyu can import from one database then sync to another.
My LDAP user has changed; so breaking a link somewhere in the connections list.
I can import and re-establish a link (Which i have now done) but there is no way of maintaing the connections sync list (Different to the import connections list).
I am running 220.127.116.114. Cant see how you set up the ability to sync to another without reversing first. Which is a bit naff....
if your objects are imported from database using one connection (the lost one in your case) you can synchronize to other database (or the same) using another connection - there is a "redirect connection" combo box and you can select which connection to be used instead of original one.
You can use import from data dictionary wizard to compare model to database if your model is created in other way (manually, import of DDL).
How I can create new connection from the top menu? Or I should necessarily go via "Import from DDL"?
I would be glad to see this function more apparent...
When I click this nice button "Sync New Objects", nothing happens .. just nothing. "DDL preview" however, shows things correctly.
Of course, new connection [tested] was selected beforehand, like you suggested.
Any ideas ?
"Sync New Objects" simply put connection information on those "new objects" so next time you use Sync functionality they will be included in comparison to database.
Does it mean "Sync New Objects" does not actually create/modify objects in the DB? If that is correct, how should I do that? Generate DDL script, then play it in SQL developer? Sorry for a trivial question.
Generate DDL script, then play it in SQL developer?
Yes, you need to do it in that way. Data modeler doesn't update database directly..
