I have some linear 3-d geometry columns that must be edited with ESRI ArcMap.
We have the tables registered in the user_sdo_geom_metadata and in ArcMap the z-ordinates are available in the vertex edit dialog. The z-values are floats when I query a feature.
If I edit any of the z-values on a feature all the z-coords are rounded.
I think is is related to meta data, but I don't know enough about ESRI ArcSDE to find the problem. Has anybody else had this problem?
Is this only on your Z values? or also on X and Y.
Not sure if this can help you but, although it was not an ESRI environment, with incorrect NLS setting (client side I think) I ran into a similar issue long time ago given the comma versus point decimal separation.
Why this would only occur on your Z value seems a bit odd.
Maybe chapter 5 can help you: http://downloads2.esri.com/support/documentation/sde_/1009ArcSDE_Config_GD_Oracle.pdf
