Requirement - Client wants to send only notification and no emails to the user.
In workflow process, once we create a Notification.. by default it sends notification to the user as well as sends the email notification to the email ID attached to the HR record of the user.
If user doesn't want the emails then we can change the settings in User -> Preferences...
My question is .. Is there any function in Workflow process where we can send only notifications not the emails ??
The email notification completely depends on the notification preference of the user. If the preference is MAIL* i.e MAILHTML, MAILATTH, MAILTEXT, MAILHTM2, then email will be sent, other wise if the preference is QUERY, DISABLED then no email will be sent. There is no option available globally or at workflow process level to completely disable email sending...
You can also set the email address value of user to null to avoid email..
We are planning to do an ER for Notification mailer that provide options to send or not to send emails for some particular messages types.
