Was on the odp.net conference call towards the end of July. was very impressed with the information put out there on the new release.
Looking to get my hands on the new release.
As far as I understand, I have to extract the managed ODP.net files from the Oracle 12c installer.
Is this true? If so, I have downloaded the full server installer (all 2 GB) of it, but haven't been able to find the appropriate option to extract only the .dll files so that I can copy them to my app's lib folder and reference them.
What's the shortest path to getting my hands on the odp.net managed 12.1 DLLs?
The instructions are posted here:
You have to install Oracle DB or client, then you can extract the fully managed provider files.
When ODAC 12c is released, we'll have an xcopy and installer version that will be much smaller and easier to extract the provider from.
Edit: So sorry, I missed the last line of your post about the coming xcopy deployment option.
Is there a timeframe on ODAC 12c? I didn't see it around. Pity to have to wait for an entire new release just to download the DLLs that are already available for release.

Any day now. Trying to fix the last set of bugs before delivering ODAC 12c.
If you want to comment on ODP.NET Nuget support, you can post to this thread on that topic. I would be interested in hearing any feedback you have, especially whether a generalized vendor supplied ODP.NET Nuget package would be useful on its own.
