One of the main reasons (not the only one though) for
"EPMCSS-00001: Failed to initialize EPM Shared Services security instance. Component SYSTEM9/FOUNDATION_SERVICES_PRODUCT/SHARED_SERVICES_PRODUCT is null in EPM System Registry. Verify EPM System Registry configuration."
is that Essbase cannot communicate or there is a problem with the Shared Services registry database, I would suspect SharedServices_Security_Client.log is outputting the same sort of information but it is worth checking.
One of the ways to check that the connection is to start the EPM Configurator on the the Essbase machine and make sure the correct configuration is retrieved.
I see the following logs:
Does the following error mean that the WebLogic password has really expired? OR does it have to do with the Shared Services?
In case it is the weblogic password issue, what would be a way to fix it gurus?
Caused By: weblogic.common.ResourceException: weblogic.common.ResourceException: Could not create pool connection. The DBMS driver exception was: ORA-28001: the password has expired
The above log says password of web logic has been expired; This need to be fixed in order to have Enterprise system performance management to work;
Check whether Shared Services User account is in a locked state(unlock it), Change the password back to the old one. (If you remember it, else you'll have to reconfigure the registry)
You'll have to talk to your DB admin and ask them to set it back to old one. (I'm sure they'll have an inventory). You'll have to connect as SYSDBA to change passwords. Ask whether you can get "never expire" account.
ALTER USER MY_ADM IDENTIFIED BY myadm1;
ALTER USER MY_ADM ACCOUNT UNLOCK; (You probably won't need this)
Try use SQL Developer and then edit the user and set the user password to no expiry. I don't know how to do that using SQLPlus
Thanks Celvin and John for your support on this issue.
Sorry I could not reply earlier to thank you.
Well, after typing in the PW in sql developer, it is working fine. It had to do with the Shared Services password.
N well, how can i give points for being helpful. The forum's new look is kinda different.
