You should consider asking the System Administrator.
It is their system(s) that is impacted, and a good system administrator already knows how to investigate that type of topic and would know how to interpret the results of any testing they performed..
Additionally, Google would be a great beginning point for a fundamental OS question such as this, instead of flooding an online forum as you have done today. Answers will be so much quicker from an Internet search instead of waiting for people to choose to respond.
You can use the following to get the ip address of the server
If you know the server name and have DNS you can use the following
$ nslookup <server_name>
I think your best option is to use SQL to query the TCP/IP address of the database server:
SQL> SELECT UTL_INADDR.get_host_address from dual;
