I'm refactoring a very old reports generating funtion in an oracle web application( using mod_pl/sql), have some questions about 'Oracle Reports'.
req := Utl_Http.begin_request(rpt_url, 'POST');
anyone can tell me what does this error mean? how to solve it ?
btw, is there any other way to run a report in pl/sql? I found there's a package swr.*, but i'm not sure if i can use in pl/sql procedure??
Hope someone could help me....Thanks!
You may have to install the srw package first. Then it is pretty simple. Just follow the instructions in the Oracle documentation:
Hi,Thank you for your information about SRW. I installed that package and used SRW.RUN_REPORT, but I still got the exception:
ORA-20212: ORA-06512: at "SRW", line 622 ORA-29273: HTTP request failed ORA-06512: at "SYS.UTL_HTTP", line 1674 ORA-29259: end-of-input reached.
I used the same code to generate reports for different customers, 9 of them were OK, only one which has the most data failed and got that exception. And I checked the report sever later, the report was generated successfully just several minutes after returning that exception..(just 180KB, PDF format, took about 11 minutes) Do you have any idea about this exception? Many thanks...
