          is there any error logged in the alert log files(primary/standby) ?

          Also refer the following thread for detailed step on "how to setup active dataguard"

            alert logs are there after starting listener and bouncing database , cant diagnose exact error ,

            thanks for the link , but my open_mode of standby DB was READ ONLY WITH APPLY .it means it was correctly configured

              You'd have to wait for the standby to catch-up to the primary.

              Have you confirmed the listeners are running on both the primary and the standby ?

              Can you query V$ARCHIVE_GAP  on the Standby ?

                its been running since 3-4 hours ,

                yes confirmed both listeners are running sucessfully as shown above posts

                SQL> SELECT * FROM V$ARCHIVE_GAP;

                no rows selected

                .want to mention that my Database Version is 12c
