Pl post exact version of "10g" and "Win2003" - is OS 32-bit or 64-bit ? Certified versions are documented in the install guide available at http://docs.oracle.com

Pl post the last 50 lines from the install log - the name and location of the log file are in Chapter G of the install doc

It is fairly common for some of the configuration assistants to fail when trying to create a database as an integral part of installation, especially with 10g (which is on its last legs, btw -- why are you not installing at least 11g?).  It appears to be a timing issue.

The solution is to  install the software without creating the database, then come back as a seperate operation and use dbca to create the database.  If you got as far as that error, I'd bet the actual software installation is complete and in good shape.  Just go back and use dbca to create your database.

Check the host name and the same should be configured in c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts file...

    Hi All,

I could'nt find the cause but solved the problem

re-installing the oracle software and created database separately.

    Thanks All,
