    ASM to OS files

    998140

      Hi,

      Trying to create a dev DB (single instance, OS file system, NOT ASM),  can I use 'rman duplicate" to copy a production database (RAC/ASM) to this dev database?

      if yes, is there any documentation I can reference?

      thank you very much.

          Yes, you can using the parameter log_file_name_convert and db_file_name_convert, like that:

          duplicate target database to db2 from active database

          spfile

          set sga_max_size='200M'

          set sga_target='125M'

          set audit_file_dest='/u01/app/oracle/admin/dup/adump'

          set control_files='/u01/app/oracle/oradata/dup/control01.ctl'

          set log_archive_dest_1='LOCATION=/u01/app/oracle/archive/dup'

          set log_file_name_convert='+DATA/db02/onlinelog', '/u01/app/oracle/oradata/dup'

          set db_file_name_convert='+DATA/db02/datafile', '/u01/app/oracle/oradata/dup';
