Hello user601798 ,1 person found this helpful
whiile at the time of exporting of your app,
Does anyone have suggestions on how to import updated version of APEX app without losing saved IR's?
make Export Private Interactive Reports to yes , so this will also export all the saved reports.
and then import that application.
Hope this will helps you.
That's helpful but the scenario is that we are developing new functionality with each release of our APEX-based product and deploying the new versions of our APEX-based product to our customers. It's our customer's saved IR's reports that we don't want to overwrite and we have no way of knowing what those reports would be when we import our newest release of our product.
But your suggestion offers one possibility -- as part of our deploymen process we export the customer saved reports first, import the new version of our product, then re-import the exported saved IRs. This seems cumbersome so I was hoping there was another method that would no require the export-import of customer saved IRs.
The user saved IRs dont get deleted if you maintain same app no across all the environments
Maintain App No 200 isame in Dev, Test, Prod.
And most important is you always import the app exported from Dev to Test and Dev to Prod.
For more information, please refer to the link which i posted:
User Saved IR Reports got deleted
I cope with the same issue.
But I've several prod instances and many applications on each of these... and SIR saved by many users.
Of course each prod application have its own ID, distinct from the dev application ID.
Is there really not any kind of solution in my case (apart from release the dev app on the dev workspace ; export 50 apps from it and import those 50 times, maybe more in the futur) ?
I'd be a pity if not, I think there must be a lot of us working in that configuration.
Please, I need that someone says to me maybe that's not possible to handle things differently...
