Unable to connect to Database Homepage OracleXE

      Hi Oracle Experts,

I have installed OracleXE 10g on a server for an application and has been running for 3 years. The installation is based on default configuration where:

      Destination Folder: C:\oraclexe\

Port for Oracle Database Listener: 1521

Port for Oracle Services for Microsoft Transaction Server: 2030

      Port for HTTP Listener: 8080

The installation work well and able to view the database homepage. The problem arises when local ICT urge to change the Oracle Database Listener port to another port instead of 1521 in order to comply with their security policy.

I have changed the port using below method:

      1) Update the port number in listener.ora to desired port

      2) Ensure that SID_name(XE) is registered in listener.ora by adding this line to SID_LIST

      (SID_DESC =

      (SID_NAME = XE)

      (ORACLE_HOME = C:\oraclexe\app\oracle\product\10.2.0\server)

      3) Reload the listener and restart the service.

I am able to connect to the database using SQL Plus using port the assigned port but when I tried to view the database homepage, I cannot load the page with Internet Explorer connection problem error.

I have changed the default HTTP port to 8089 but still unable to connect. But when I switched to the default listener port(1521), I am able to view the database homepage.

Does anyone know how to solve this issue?

      Thank you in advance.
