    Oracle Binary Files Overwritten

      Hi Team,

we have recently upgraded oracle database from to and from to I have created separate folder and then I installed and then upgraded it to as we all know that there is no patching from onwards as it can be installed and upgraded. we used another folder for that.

I have taken cold backup while upgrading to Now we have been asked to revert back to as the tool is not supporting 11.2 version. when we tried to startup the database using cold backup, it was throwing error. when we checked the Oracle_home/dbs and o_h/dbs are pointing to same folder, also the o_h/bin is also pointing to same folder.

The sqlplus tool is pointing to version, I'm guessing that during upgrade the 10g binary files were overwritten by files. I have suggested the below points to my client

      1) install 10.2.03 and start the database

      2) move the backup to other server which has 10g binaries and restart the database.

please let me know do I have any other options?
