When i am trying to start my sql*plus 188.8.131.52 application, it is showing one error message: error ora-01033 oracle initialization or shutdown in progress. Could anybody get me out of here with solution plz?
What does that subject line ("SNRao") mean?
Is the rest of your technology stack as old as your oracle database, or is it only the database that your company refuses to keep current?
Ok, with the preliminaries out of the way, lets focus on your question
What is your sqlplus client on the same machine as the database?
What os is the client?
What os is the database server?
What was your exact syntax when you started sqlplus and tried to connect? A copy and paste from the terminal session would be most helpful.
BTW, it would be really helpful if you would go to your profile and give yourself a recognizable name. It doesn't have to be your real name, just something that looks like a real name. Who says my name is really Ed Stevens? But at least when people see that on a message they have a recognizable identity. Unlike the system generated name of 'ed0f625b-6857-4956-9b66-da280b7cf3a2', which is like going to the pub with a bag over your head.
