Please see the Oracle R Enterprise 1.0 Tutorial Series on the Transparency Layer, as well as Oracle R Enterprise 1.3 Transparency Layer, for examples of selection columns and rows from an ore.frame. The result of which can be retrieved to the client R engine using ore.pull. Standard R syntax is used to select columns and filter rows. In the following example, ONTIME_S is an ore.frame, corresponding to the table ONTIME_S in the connected schema.
df <- ONTIME_S[,c("YEAR","DEST","ARRDELAY")]
df1 <- df[df$DEST=="SFO",]
df2 <- df[df$DEST=="SFO",c(1,3)] # combined with column selection
df3 <- df[df$DEST=="SFO" | df$DEST=="BOS",1:3]
You could then invoke ore.pull(df3).
