    TNS-12560: TNS:protocol adapter error

      Hi Experts,

       

      Just wanted to let you know that there was some maintainace activity. After that when i tried to start the ebs db and listener it is givng the below error.

       

      LSNRCTL for Linux: Version 11.2.0.3.0 - Production on 01-SEP-2013 20:59:45

      Copyright (c) 1991, 2011, Oracle.  All rights reserved.

      Starting /u01/oracle/SID

       

      /db/tech_st/11.2.0/bin/tnslsnr: please wait...

      TNS-12547: TNS:lost contact
      TNS-12560: TNS:protocol adapter error
        TNS-00517: Lost contact
         Linux Error: 32: Broken pipe

       

      oracle    3828     1  0 10:26 ?        00:00:00 /u01/oracle/SID/db/tech_st/11.2.0/bin/tnslsnr  SID -inherit

       

      [oracle@hostname

       

      ]$ sqlplus "/as sysdba"

      SQL*Plus: Release 11.2.0.3.0 Production on Mon Sep 2 10:41:05 2013

      Copyright (c) 1982, 2011, Oracle.  All rights reserved.

      Connected.
      SQL> startup
      ORA-00000: normal, successful completion

       

      Please advise

            What is the output of "ps -ef |grep tnslsnr"?

             

            Was the database env file set before starting the listener?

             

            SQL> startup

            ORA-00000: normal, successful completion

             

            Please post the output of "env | sort" command.

             

            Please also check the database log file for any errors.

              If the database is not up yet, then this is an expected output.

               

              Please unmount the file system and mount it again (you may also reboot the server) and try the above commands again.
