Hello,

I've been scouring the forums, but I'm having trouble installing Oracle XE on CentOS.  I've installed the RPM, but it fails to configure the database when running /etc/init.d/oracle-xe configure.  Here are the relevant logs:

# cat cloneDBCreation.log

Create controlfile reuse set database "XE"

The most common causes that I found were environment variables not being properly set  and /dev/shm not being mounted.  However, I've taken care of both of these and I am still unable to successfully configure the database:

# env | grep -i oracle

ORACLE_SID=XE

PATH=/u01/app/oracle/product/11.2.0/xe/bin:/usr/local/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/sbin:/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin:/root/bin

ORACLE_HOME=/u01/app/oracle/product/11.2.0/xe

# df -k

Filesystem           1K-blocks      Used Available Use% Mounted on

/dev/vda1            455165316  11261888 420782452   3% /

shmfs                  2097152         0   2097152   0% /dev/shm

If anyone could provide any further insight, I would appreciate it.
