I recently installed the oracle 10.2.0.1 database as standalone database using ASM as storage option in EL5.
Installed completely, i can reboot the server, init.cssd process started and i can able to access the database without any problem.
Now i tried to upgrade to 10.2.0.4 , installation completed, but when running the rootsh file, it hangs at "Adding to inittab"
Checked online and found there is a bug in that. And this bug will come only if we upgrade from 10.2.0.1 to 10.2.0.4 which is standalone and ASM as storage option.
Anyone passed this type of upgradation??
Links and suggestions are welcome..
When the "/bin/su ..." command is run, the .profile (or .bashrc or .cshrc) of the oracle user is loaded.
If there is a menu or a prompt in the .profile (or .bashrc or .cshrc), the command will hang until we select a menu option or answer the question at the prompt. So you have to disable the prompt command in order to avoid the hang.
