You will probably have to kill the process in task manager and then start the service again, it is not unsual for that to happen with the print server, if it rarely happens then I wouldn't worry about it.

Well I figured out the issue.
It was the schema user that had expired. I went on to SQL DEVELOPER and retyped the password. Restarted EPM and now it works fine.

Might be it sounds like a very basic question, but I am very new to this environment.
We are using SQL as DB server and how can I check either our databases are created as 'Non-Expiring'/Expiring accounts?

In SQL Management studio under security -> logins -> right click on the user -> Properties -> Disable "Enforce Password Expiration".
