Will the partitioning work even the applications are on different geographies..?
What kind of network setting are required to get this done.
You mentioned about replicated and transparent partition, but in this situation how will both the partitions work...can you please explain me briefly
Thanks in Advance.
I probably wouldn't recommend using partitioning if the servers are located in different locations as there will be performance implications, it may be feasible to look at replicated but there are lots of factors involved, it might be worth reading through the partition section of the Essbase administrators guide to get a better understanding.
I already mentioned, the decision of using Partitioning should be dependant on case to case. Also agree with John that Replicated Partitioning can be feasible, Using which, will not trigger any dynamic activity on data retreivals.
If you can throw more light on your requirement, recommendation will tend to right direction.
I don't think you can go with partitioning.
My suggestion would be to look at any other options. Export and Import.
1. Do you want to send all level0 data from all the four cubes reporting cubes?
2. Do you want to send only a portion/subset of data to the reporting cube? Is it level0 only or even upper level data?
3. Are all the Four cubes BSO/ASO?
4. Is the reporting cube already in place (OR) Are you planning ASO for reporting cube?
5. How big are your cubes?
Depending on how much amount data & at what frequency you want to push to reporting cube, you may have to look at different options
As Ambuj said, if you can give a bit more on requirement then we can help out
