diff output between zpool iostat and iostat

    lksece2

      Hi,

I am running zpool iostat” and iostat” commands in two different terminals.

When I look at the output of zpool, it shows no read/write but whereas when I see the iostat it shows 12 read iops ad 4 write iops.

Could you please help to understand the reason?

The output between iostat and zpool iostat will vary based on the fact that ZFS aggregates I/Os and might also vary based on whether compression or deduplication is enabled for the current workload. The above output to me looks like some timing issue is involved as well. I ran a workload over a period of time and the iostat output consistently showed more I/Os than zpool iostat.

          Thanks, Cindy
