It appears the answer is find and Read the documents. This is part of the puzzle:
The folders /etc/lvm/backup and /etc/lvm/archive appear to contain what I need. Any insides still very welcome.
The not a database question. Look for LVM help only. But I am at 126.96.36.199 to answer the question.
On my test box I renamed the folders /etc/lvm/backup and /etc/lvm/archive and issued a REBOOT and Red Hat recreated the folders with new .vg and the other files in backup.
Complete non-issue. When you boot either Oracle Linux 6 ( 6.4 in my test ) or Red Hat 6 Linux for that matter they both find the LVM's and the multipath. Multipath is simple because the drives have a WWID. So if you keep you OS on a different disk you can just reinstall the OS and format those mount points, and just type in the mounts point for LVM without formating. I upgraded a Red Hat 5 to Oracle Linux 6.4 and my whole LVM/Oracle just came along with the install.
