We are installing GRID for the first time and have a three disk slices of 5 gig each for the ocrvote disk group. We are interested in the privileges for the disks created in asmlib. the install doc we are usiing is below.. We had an ASM problem with our first install... And somehow we worked thru it with support which ultimately changed the group on the asm device drivers to asmdba........ Is the install doc correct??? Thanks for your help...

Yes , it is correct. 11G R2 onwards , its recommended to have asmadmin group but this is not mandatory.
Actually oracle recommended to use asmadmin group to manage the asmlib. But you can also use same group (eg : oinstall) for different users(eg: oracle --> for db installation and grid --> for grid infrastructure installation..
It depends on the requirements actually.
