If i am not wrong you are following that doc :http://www.oracle-base.com/articles/12c/oracle-db-12cr1-rac-installation-on-oracle-linux-6-using-virtualbox.php
As per the note You have to configure all thing on one node first and then Clone the Virtual Machine
after that you have to change the network file. and further do some changes..
If you are going good with that doc than please proceed the next steps..
I am following the note plus 2 others on the ORACLE-BASE site to do others like DNS, bind etc.
To my knowlege I have followed the note closely but I am stuck at the stage that I have to ping the other node from each node.
Have you or anyone used this note to get a running 12c RAC installed?
I reckon it's an issue with networking but I can not still figure out what I am missing . BTW I have to say I am a bit clueless regarding networks setups:)
I have used once for 11gr2 on VM and it was successful. not used for 12c... but for VM/node it seems to simmler step need to follow..
How did you clone your VM Machine ?
you can make the necessary changes in network file on both the hosts and restart the node.. and then try to configure the SSH, may you get some success.
From my question above :
When I do nslookup on node 1 it works resolving as expected
But when I do it on NODE2, it doesn't work until I edit its /etc/resolv.conf file's to:
# Generated by NetworkManager
Should I need to change this or it should be using the one on NODE1?
I think this will be the beginning of my solution to this issue.
I have installed 10g RAC on VMware few years back but at the time there was no need for DNS, Scan etc.
Did you use SCAN for your install?
Can you check the
/etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth1 on both the server
